The objective of the original game was to spend five nights in the pizzeria without suffering any mishap.
Well, in Five Nights at Freddy's 4, after maintaining the game mechanics with security cameras for three installments, this time it has been dispensed with and has gone into action in the first person. Now we do not control the security cameras, and we embody the role of a child who has been trapped in his room in the middle of the night. Now the mechanics change totally, and if before with the cameras we had to be attentive to what we saw in them, now the important thing is to sharpen our hearing and combine it with our ability to see in the dark.
In this new installment the objective is the same, to hold five nights of a piece. This time we are in our room, in which there are two doors on the sides, a closet in front and our bed behind. The darkness is almost total, and to avoid being so afraid we have a flashlight that will allow us to illuminate the darkest areas.
If in other deliveries the key to keeping the animatronics at bay was to control their movements in the cameras, now we get this by listening if something or someone breathes around us. Being attentive to this facet, we will be able to anticipate the movements of the animatronics. In addition to being able to turn on the flashlight, we can open or close the doors around us, and this will allow us to prevent the animatronics from entering the room. But to be able to do it, we must anticipate his movements, and that is at this point where Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is shown in all its splendor, because if we are not able to see the animatronics come, the scare that we we will beat will be death. This is the biggest attraction of Five Nights at Freddy's 4, and that is at the most unexpected and completely random we can find Freddy Fazbear in front of our noses, to automatically die of fright and end the game.

The result is a bit disconcerting at first, but little by little we get used to it. The game routine is simple, look through the doors, turn on the flashlight and see if something moves at the end of the hall, do the same with the closet and check if there is something strange inside, as well as on our bed . Every time we see something weird, it will be best to close the doors and look elsewhere, where we hear the loudest breathing, to close the access ways to the room, while they spend the nights and hours in Five Nights at Freddy's 4.
The truth is that the worst things of Five Nights at Freddy's 4, and that is a simple game to be more in this respect, something that would not be bad if it did not hamper its development in some configurations. We have found PC configurations in which the image appears cut on screen, and does not adapt to the resolution of our monitor. But the worst of all is that there is no settings menu where you can edit these aspects. In addition, the graphic aspect leaves much to be desired, with some very low resolution still images that are more typical of games from more than a decade ago. Although deep down, it is something that could even make us grace.
There have also been failures since the launch, with versions in which breathing was not heard enough, so it has been necessary to launch patches to improve this aspect, which is fundamental in the development. In Five Nights at Freddy's 4 the menu is very poor, we can only choose new game or continue with another that has been saved automatically, and of course it is neither translated nor dubbed into Spanish, something that on the other hand does not hinder the development of the game.
Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is a fairly limited game, it offers us a somewhat flat game experience, which is only startled by the spectacular scares that we take in each game, which are undoubtedly the reason for this saga . These scares are cool at first, but end up losing interest with the passage of games. Five Nights At Freddy's 4 is a game that is very surprising when playing it for the first time, but for which interest is lost very soon. No doubt its poor technical aspect and the simplicity of its few scenarios gives us the feeling of being in front of a game that could rather be just a chapter of a larger game. Although for the price it has, it is a good option if you really like the scares in videogames. But a bad choice if you expect a game with deep development and an imposing technical aspect, is an indie title that has found an original mechanics of game and is exploiting it to the fullest, but perhaps in this quarter has lost much of its charm by the suppression of security cameras.
